We’re looking for someone to come work with us in our shop. Main duties would include doing Ding Repair, Sanding, Hotcoating and Laminating. Experience is not necessary, although must be willing to donate your time to be trained. Work and pay is on a by-order basis. After putting in a decent amount of time with us, you’ll have access to the shaping bay and will get the chance to make your own boards.

CASTING A MALE HOST FOR A NEW SERIES CALLED “CACHE WARS (working title)”

SYNOPSIS:

A brand new comedy adventure series where teams of two (at least one teen per team) compete in wacky challenges, strategic thinking and a race to the finish line. Cache Wars (working title) is what happens when The Amazing Race collides with Wipeout and features a cast of teams that include outrageous personalities and their unique family bonds.

SEEKING:

• MALE
• 20-40 years of age
• Actra or Non-Union
• Must be a Canadian citizen
• Outgoing and very personable
• Attractive
• Athletic
• Experience in front of the camera (as a host is a bonus)
• Must be able to improvise and think off the top of their head.

This host will be delivering introductions, conduct interviews and commentary. The ideal host is great with people, can deliver a punch line and is not afraid to get their hands dirty!

CONTRACT:

This role will shoot for approximately 20 days (shooting ten episodes) between the outside shooting dates of September 4th-October 14th 2012. This is a professional paying gig (industry standards).

• The show will be airing on YTV.
• Production will cover all flights, ground transportation and hotel if you live out of town.
• You will be traveling across Ontario with this series (Locations TBD)

Must have at least 4 years of surf experience, be able pass a surf skills test, have excellent surf knowledge of the area and have at least 1 year of surf instructing experience. Must also have certifications in Bronze Cross, Bronze Medallion, CPR and first aid.

The Festival Coordinator is responsible for managing the logistics, the planning and organizing of all major festivals within the District of Tofino. The position will entail working closely with special event applicants/groups, District and Tourism Tofino staff.

The successful applicant must have experience in event coordination. Essential skills include the ability to work effectively hands-on with limited supervision; build relationships with existing community groups and to support new and existing groups in evolving. Effective and tactful communication skills are a must for this position. Demonstrated initiative, a positive attitude, strong public relations, and the ability to create inclusive and welcoming environments are also vital in this role. Experience in working with groups to provide leadership and support their development would be an asset.
