The Subaru Western Triathlon Series is coming to Sooke on August 7, 2011 and we need volunteers!

For the fifth consecutive year, approximately 600 elite and recreational triathletes from around the world and from our own local community will gather to test their endurance, compete for prizes and medals and enjoy the magnificent natural setting that Sooke has to offer. Many of the athletes will be preparing for the famous Hawaii Ironman this fall and by becoming a volunteer you help the athletes to meet their goals. The volunteers are key players in making the event a success – plus, it is very inspiring! Many positions are available and volunteers will receive a great K-Swiss Technical race shirt, prizes and food & beverages! Pre-race training will be provided and a volunteer appreciation party will take place following the event.

Expo Set-Up: Thursday, August 4 –Varied shifts, noon to 8 pm
Pre Check in/Expo/Race Set-Up: Friday, August 5 - Varied shifts, noon to 8 pm
Registration/Body Marking: Saturday, August 6 – Varied shifts, 9:00 am to 6: 00pm
Race day: Sunday, August 7 - Varied shifts, many positions, 5 am to 2 pm - Take down 2 pm to 6 pm

Large Group Honorariums:
If your sports team, school group, church members etc can bring a large group to volunteer than we can offer an honorarium. For 25 we will pay $250 – for 50 we will pay $500. If you can get close, just call us to work out the details.

Monkido Aerial Adventure Course Guides:

Our Monkido tree courses are elevated obstacle courses set in the beautiful Douglas Fir forest and securely suspended in the trees at 10 to 50 feet off the ground! Elements include zip lines, bridges, scramble nets and swinging logs. Guests of all ages take this course on their own, with friends or in larger groups. The Monkido Aerial Adventure Course Guides are responsible for the safety of guests on the courses and for ensuring the guests’ experience is one of challenge and enjoyment.

Coastline Surf and Sport in Victoria is looking for a qualified customer service representative. The successful applicant will have relevant surf industry experience and a proven track record of sales ability. Must be available to work weekends. This position is for part time possibly leading to full time.

Surf Sister Surf School is looking for a female Senior Surf Instructor for the summer 2010.

Candidate qualifications:

• 4 years local surfing knowledge and be riding “the green”
• 2 years instructing experience
• British Columbia Association of Surf Instructors Level 2 certificate
