Bastien surfing at Les Bourdaines in France. It's about 15 mins north of the famous shorebreak wave, La Graviere (Hossegor), where the Quiksilver Pro is held every October. Bastien just returned to France after surfing here on the Island for a year. He is happy to be home where the waves are consistent and the water is warm! The photos are taken by his dad, one of the first surfers in that area before surfing because a popular sport.

comments: Decent waves with good weather (glassy conditions!). The waves are far greater than on the Island (sorry). I surfed for three days at the Santa Monica Pier with no localism problems (only dolphins and sea lions).

"Freight Trains" on Wednesday September 14th. It was easily the biggest south swell of the season. Plenty of broken boards and battered bodies. Good times in Maui.

Rogerio in Brazil a few years back. A south island favourite. ....proving that old men can surf well and BC harbours lots of hidden talent.
I saw one of my old longboards going down the street yesterday ridden by a giant chicken. (guy in a chicken suit). There was a group of big stuffed animals riding skateboards. No it wasn't the green beer. skater punks.
