Jun/21/2008: It's kinda windy and a bit of a mess this afternoon. Pete Devries, Noah Cohen, Bastien Lanusse and a couple of guys from Suyulita are dominating the comp. The final rounds are tomorrow for pretty much every division. The girls are doing well with Leah Oke standing out. It's a super friendly vibe with the stew, half pipe and Sitka board demos and the weather is great.

Canada's best surfers, a legendary surf break, beach shenanigans, live music, a surf film premiere and hot stew.

Saturday June 21th & Sunday June 22th on Cox Bay in Tofino
Matching the event theme, Stew will be readily available on the beach to feed the masses, with all proceeds going to a Tofino based non-profit organization. To top it off Rip Curl will be hosting a video premier at the Tofino Legion on the evening of June 20th.

There will be over $20,000 worth of cash prizes and swag, Rip Curl will be handing out give aways all weekend. First place for Men's open will receive $2000.00 and Women's will recieve $750.00. For the competitors there will be prize packs filled with amazing goods.
Coors Light will be running a contest at various stores & establishments throughout the lower mainland. Contestants can enter by texting "surf to 14747". Winners receive a free trip to the surf comp, free accommodation at Long Beach lodge, a ride to the event in the Coors Light motor home for them and two of their friends, $100 each spending money, a Rip Curl watch & pair of Spy sunglasses.
