Ice climbing winter 2006. In form, it was a very atypical Island sort of thing to do but really not in spirit.The adventure starts out w/ five smelly guys piling into a P.O.S. mini-van at 5:00 am in Vic., driving up Island until the van gets stuck on a snow covered logging road. We get out of the van, gear up, walk up the road, creek, then a gully somewhere on the side of Mt. Arrowsmith… And walk, and walk, until we find some icicles. We climb the icicles, hangout, and head home. We bagged no peaks, have no epics, but arrived back in Vic completely satisfied and stoked.
